The East Melbourne Group welcomes residents, property owners, friends, and businesses who support our community.
General Information
Who Can Join
To vote at the Annual General Meeting or any other general meeting, you must be a paid-up Full Member.
Full membership is open to people whose principal place of residence is in East Melbourne (including Jolimont), or who own residential property in East Melbourne. The annual individual membership fee is $60. All members of an East Melbourne household of two or more may take part in EMG activities for an annual fee of $120, with two votes at meetings.
A concessional fee is available for those who are eligible for full membership and hold a Commonwealth Pensioners Concession Card or Health Care Card (not the Commonwealth Seniors Health Card or State Seniors Card), or are full-time students with a tertiary student card.
The EMG is keen to encourage membership from all ages and has an introductory membership offer of the $33 concessional rate for young (under 40) members for their first year of membership ($66 for a household with all members under 40).
Friends of East Melbourne are individuals who support the purposes of The East Melbourne Group but who do not live or own residential property in East Melbourne. Business members are organisations who support the purposes of The East Melbourne Group and have an office address in East Melbourne.
Full Membership
Individual — $60 / year
Open to any person whose principal place of residence is in East Melbourne (including Jolimont), or who owns residential property in East Melbourne. Individual Full Members are entitled to vote at the AGM and all general meetings.
Household — $120 / year
All members of an East Melbourne household of two or more people may join under a single household membership. Household members participate in all EMG activities and receive two votes at the AGM and general meetings.
Concession — $33 / year
Available to eligible Full Members who hold a Commonwealth Pensioners Concession Card, a Health Care Card (not the Commonwealth Seniors Health Card or State Seniors Card), or are full-time students with a tertiary student card. Household concession rate is $66 per year.
Young Members — $33 first year
The EMG encourages membership from all ages. New members under 40 years of age are welcomed at the concessional rate of $33 for their first year of individual membership, or $66 for a household where all members are under 40.
Associate Membership
Friends of East Melbourne — $60 / year
Individuals who support the purposes of The East Melbourne Group but who do not live or own residential property in East Melbourne. The annual friends (associate) membership fee is $60, or $120 for a household. Associate members do not hold voting rights at general meetings.
Business — $165 / year
Organisations that support the purposes of The East Melbourne Group and have an office address in East Melbourne. Business membership is an associate membership and does not carry voting rights at general meetings.
