The East Melbourne Group, believed to be the earliest residents’ association in Melbourne, was established in 1953.
We work to connect the community of East Melbourne and Jolimont and to protect and improve its heritage and amenity.

What We’re Working On
Current Issues
Affordable Housing
Rising rents are displacing long-term residents. We are pushing for zoning reforms and social housing investment to keep our community accessible to all.
Public Transport
Gaps in local bus and rail coverage leave outer suburbs isolated. We are campaigning for better frequency, extended hours, and accessible services.
Community Health
Waiting times for mental health services have reached crisis levels. We are working with health authorities to expand access and reduce barriers to care.
